People Operations, Health and Safety
The People Operations, Health and Safety unit supports Council employees throughout their employment lifecycle by managing HR systems, employee data, and workplace processes. The team ensures employee information is accurate and compliant, supports recruitment and organisational changes, and provides advice on policies, employment conditions, and workplace matters. They also play a key role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by supporting occupational health and safety practices and promoting a culture of wellbeing, accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation.
The Opportunity
As a Human Resources Administration Officer, you will support the accuracy and integrity of employee information across Council systems. Working within the HR team, you will maintain employee records, process updates related to employment changes, and ensure documentation meets compliance and record-keeping requirements.
You will also contribute to data quality by conducting regular checks, supporting reporting needs, and maintaining key resources such as the organisation chart. In this role, you will provide general HR administration support and help ensure our systems and data continue to enable effective decision-making and service delivery across the organisation.
This is a part time ongoing position, working Monday to Friday and is based in Bairnsdale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain and update employee records in our HR systems
- Enter and validate data including employment changes, hours and pay updates
- Ensure documents are recorded correctly and meet compliance requirements
- Support organisation chart updates and reporting
- Complete data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Provide admin support across the HR team as needed
What we're looking for:
- Experience in administration or HR support
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
- Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office
- Good organisation and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
- A team-focused approach and willingness to support others
