You'd rather be on the floor coaching a Store Manager through a near-miss than filling out compliance forms. Great, that's exactly who we need!
This is a field-based role across our store network where you spend your time where the work actually happens. You observe, reinforce, coach, diagnose and audit. You build trust with Store and Area Managers, support teams through incidents, and work out why standards slip so they can be fixed for good. Safety culture lives on the floor, and so do you.
What You'll Do
-
Spend your time on the shop floor and back-of-house across our store network, observing how safety actually plays out day to day and reinforcing safe practice in the moment
-
Coach Store and Area Managers to own safety and compliance as part of running a great store; influence without owning the reporting line
-
Support stores through incidents, hazards and near-misses, be there when it matters, not just on report day
-
Carry a compliance remit across WHS, food safety and broader regulatory standards; support food safety tasks and audit readiness alongside store teams
-
Work out why compliance is slipping, is it knowledge, systems, culture or a pattern? and tackle the root cause
-
Maintain accurate safety and compliance records across your patch; conduct observations and support first-level investigations
About You
We're looking for someone with a genuine safety background, ideally in multi-site, customer-facing or high-headcount settings like retail, hospitality or logistics. You bring:
-
Work Health & Safety qualification: Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS (essential)
-
Experience coaching and influencing frontline teams and their leaders; building trust matters more than authority
-
A diagnostic mindset that works out the why behind a problem
-
Genuine comfort being on the floor with teams, this is a presence role, not a desk role
-
Practical and pragmatic, translating standards into what actually works in a busy store
-
Self-directed, comfortable managing your own patch across multiple sites
-
Current full driver's licence with willingness to travel across our store network
-
Food Safety Supervisor certification is a bonus
-
Hungry, humble, and smart always looking for the next improvement and reading the room well
