Salary - $77,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join a friendly and dynamic kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy and well-established hospitality venue focused on delivering high-quality modern Australian cuisine and exceptional dining experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team to consistently deliver high-quality meals and maintain service standards.
- Demonstrate and guide kitchen staff in food preparation methods, cooking methods and presentation standards.
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of modern Australian pub meals, including premium steaks, seafood, pizzas, burgers, pasta dishes and seasonal specials.
- Assist in planning and developing menus, including seasonal menu updates and daily specials.
- Calculate food requirements and assist with food costing, budgeting and stock control to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Order food supplies and monitor inventory to ensure consistent availability of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard while maintaining portion control.
- Monitor food storage, preservation, stock rotation and handling procedures in accordance with Food Safety Standards.
- Assist with the recruitment, training, supervision and rostering of kitchen staff to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen while ensuring compliance with OH&S and food safety legislation.
This role demands strong leadership, excellent organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a busy service environment while maintaining a genuine passion for producing quality food.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management - Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) experience as a Chef within a busy restaurant, hotel or bistro environment.
- Experience in preparing a broad range of contemporary Australian meals in a high-volume kitchen.
- Experience leading and mentoring kitchen staff while maintaining high standards and team morale.
- Strong understanding of food costing, portion control, ordering and kitchen management.
- Sound knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to delivering consistently high-quality meals.
- Availability to work across weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
