LEADING HAND/SUPERVISOR - BDSA MOURA
BDS Mechanical Repairs Aus is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our team and take the next step in their career with a large, privately owned organisation. Based at our Moura Workshop, this hands-on leadership role involves overseeing a well-established on-site team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the workshop while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
BDS Mechanical Repairs Aus is a rapidly growing, forward-thinking company delivering comprehensive mechanical, auto-electrical, and welding services from our fully equipped workshops and through our extensive mobile service network. Operating across Queensland and Western Australia, our fleet of more than 160 mobile service units provides reliable support throughout an area exceeding 600,000 km². The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Supervisor/Leading hand experience
- Relevant trade qualification
- Experience in light and heavy vehicles
- Electrical/AC/hydraulic experience a bonus
- HR license a bonus
- Strong communication skills
- Good people management skills
- Ability to manage all aspects of the business effectively
- Great workshop, mechanical and diagnostic knowledge
The Job:
- Lead and mentor mechanics, apprentices, and trainees
- Work in a senior mechanic capacity, leading by example
- Allocate daily tasks and manage workflow on the workshop floor
- Monitor productivity, job progress, and turnaround times
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Ensure tools, equipment, and workshop areas are maintained
- Enforce WHS policies and safe work practices
- Overlook and correct job cards
- Control A/H breakdowns and roster
