Café All-Rounder Wanted – Pomegranate Café & Eatery, Kincumber
Pomegranate Café & Eatery (Shop 10, Kincumber Village) is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Café All-Rounder to join our friendly team! About the Role
We're after someone who can confidently move between the coffee machine, the kitchen, and the floor — a true all-rounder who keeps things running smoothly during busy periods and helps create a warm, welcoming experience for every customer.
Pay Rate: $30–$35 per hour (depending on experience)
Duties Include:
- Preparing and serving barista-quality coffee (espresso machine experience essential)
- Light cooking and food prep – breakfast and lunch items, sandwiches, toasties, etc.
- Taking customer orders and operating the POS/register
- Providing friendly, attentive customer service
- Setting up and closing down the café (opening/closing duties)
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations
- Restocking and monitoring stock levels of food, drinks, and consumables
- Plating and presenting food and beverages to a high standard
- Clearing and resetting tables, general front-of-house tidiness
- Washing dishes/using dishwasher and keeping kitchen/service areas clean
- Assisting with basic food prep for catering orders when required
- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements:
- Previous café/hospitality experience preferred
- Solid barista skills – must be able to make a variety of coffees consistently
- Comfortable with light cooking/food prep
- Must be available to work weekends
- Must be available for afternoon shifts
- Current RSA/Food Safety certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and a great team player
