Format: part-time / retainer
Duration: on and off across 12 months period
Category: Premium/lifestyle beverage brand
We’re looking for a seasoned Part-Time Creative Director (Copy) to provide senior creative leadership for a premium Australian lifestyle beverage brand, so prior experience in this category will be essential.
This role is designed to elevate creative direction, sharpen social-first ideas, guide local copy and brand storytelling, and support the studio and social team with clear creative standards.
This person is the senior creative quality layer and helps to protect and elevate the brand voice, guide what good looks like, and help make sure the work feels Australian, distinctive, relatable, and culturally alive.
About the Role
Creative leadership & brand stewardship
-
Provide senior creative direction across brand, social, digital, and content work.
-
Ensure creative output is distinctive, culturally relevant, and aligned with brand strategy and guidelines.
-
Challenge and elevate creative thinking so the work goes beyond execution and carries a strong idea.
-
Guide creative approach, visual language, copy direction, tone, and execution.
-
Help the team avoid generic FMCG content and build stronger lifestyle-led brand work with clear creative standards.
Creative ideation & copy craft
-
Lead monthly or quarterly creative ideation sessions with brand, studio, and content teams.
-
Shape creative direction for upcoming content calendars, campaigns, tactical moments, and cultural activations.
-
Develop brand lines, social copy, campaign hooks, content territories, and narrative direction.
-
Bring a strong Australian cultural lens and lifestyle tone, making premium feel relatable and lifestyle feel accessible.
-
Review and elevate copy from internal, studio, or offshore teams, helping the brand speak with character rather than category clichés.
Social-first creative direction & elevation
-
Bring strong experience in social-first creative, digital advertising, and platform-led content.
-
Develop ideas designed for how people actually engage across social and digital platforms.
-
Provide creative direction for social campaigns, digital assets, content series, reactive moments, and tactical activations.
-
Support the Social Media & Community Manager with tone calibration, example banks, response principles, and creative judgement.
-
Work closely with the Sydney studio, brand stakeholders, social team, and wider content partners to provide clear feedback and lift creative quality.
About you
-
You are a senior Creative Director from a copy background with strong experience across premium lifestyle, beverage, FMCG, hospitality, culture, entertainment, or consumer brands.
-
You have a sharp understanding of how lifestyle brands build relevance through tone, taste, social behaviour, rituals, community, and cultural timing.
-
You bring strong examples of social-first creative work, not just traditional campaign work adapted into social formats.
-
You know how to make premium brands feel desirable without becoming distant, and familiar brands feel current without losing their roots.
-
You have a strong Australian cultural lens and can write with warmth, wit, restraint, and natural local confidence.
-
You can turn cultural insight into simple, sharp, relatable creative ideas that work across social, digital, campaign, and content channels.
-
You know what good looks like across modern brand social: reactive content, creator-led formats, community moments, platform-native copy, campaign extensions, and always-on storytelling.
-
You can guide designers, writers, social teams, studio partners, and distributed creative teams with clear, practical creative feedback.
-
You bring strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
