We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Accountant to manage the finances of two related businesses — Pinn's Palace, a busy Malaysian Chinese restaurant in Cannington, and TRS Sport Centre, a sports and recreation facility in Bayswater.
About the Role
We are looking for a full-time Accountant to take ownership of the financial management of both businesses, working closely with each site's management team while providing consolidated reporting and financial oversight across the group. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, can manage competing priorities across different business types, and wants genuine ownership of a growing group's finances.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate, implement, and maintain financial, accounting, and budgetary control policies to maintain governance standards across business operations.
- Prepare and present statutory financial statements, management accounts, and financial reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB/IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, scenario planning, and risk assessments to evaluate capital expenditure, expansion projects, and commercial initiatives.
- Oversee cash flow management, treasury functions, working capital optimization, and banking operations to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
- Analyse operational performance, monitoring cost structures to identify margin enhancement and cost-efficiency opportunities across high-volume operations.
- Establish, monitor, and audit internal control frameworks to safeguard business assets, optimize inventory governance, and minimize financial leakage.
- Direct tax compliance and reporting obligations, ensuring complete adherence to statutory requirements including BAS, GST, FBT, and payroll tax legislation.
- Evaluate, upgrade, and manage accounting systems, POS integrations, and automated financial processes to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Support internal and external audit processes, providing verification, compliance assurance, and resolution of complex accounting discrepancies.
- Provide executive-level financial intelligence and strategic guidance to senior management to drive profitability and long-term business growth.
About You
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor of Commerce preferred)
· Minimum 2 years experience in an accounting role
· Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented approach
· Strong computer skills, including intermediate Excel and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Excellent communication skills
· Able to adapt in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with others
· Located in Perth, Western Australia
· Mandarin language skills are desirable
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
