Queensland Youth Services (QYS) is seeking a compassionate, motivated and resilient Case Worker to join our Townsville team.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting young people experiencing homelessness, family conflict, domestic and family violence, mental health concerns, social disadvantage and involvement with the youth justice system.
Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll provide strengths-based case management, advocacy and practical support to help young people achieve safe, sustainable and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strengths-based case management to young people and their families.
- Support young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and other complex challenges.
- Develop individual support plans and coordinate referrals to housing, education, employment, health and community services.
- Advocate for clients and collaborate with Child Safety, Youth Justice, schools, health providers and community organisations.
- Maintain accurate case notes, records and reporting.
- Manage a diverse caseload while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

- An effective communicator with strong organisational skills.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Committed to trauma-informed, strengths-based practice and continuous professional development.
What You'll Bring
You will have:
- A relevant qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications and/or experience.
- Experience providing case management or support services to young people.
- Knowledge of youth homelessness, child protection, youth justice and related social issues.
- Strong written communication, case recording and report writing skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with government and community service providers.
- The ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and an understanding of the impacts of historical disadvantage and intergenerational trauma.
