Role: Venue Manager – The Fitzroy Beer Garden

The Fitzroy Beer Garden is an iconic Melbourne institution. We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and commercially-minded Venue Manager to lead our team. This is a role for a "floor-first" manager—someone who excels in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty while maintaining a bird’s-eye view of the business.
You will work in close partnership with the owners to ensure the venue remains a local favorite while hitting key financial benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Lead from the front during peak service; manage the floor, bar, and security with confidence.
- Financial Management: Work closely with ownership to monitor and deliver a healthy P&L. You will be responsible for managing COGS, labor costs, and driving revenue growth.
- Sales Growth: Actively drive late-night trade and food sales through creative initiatives and exceptional service standards.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team that reflects the Fitzroy culture.
- Organisation & Admin: Maintain impeccable standards of venue organisation, from staff rostering and stock control to compliance and maintenance.
