Are you a Property Lawyer, Conveyancer, or General Insurance Law professional looking for a career where your legal expertise to make a tangible difference?
This is a unique opportunity to combine your legal and property expertise with claims management, working alongside underwriters, external lawyers, surveyors, valuers, councils and other industry professionals to resolve complex property disputes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Claims Management

Ability to have considerable judgement in determining claims and legal interpretation

Keeping abreast of new developments and changes to legislation
-
Manage an end-to-end portfolio of title insurance and property-related claims.

Determine claim liability and prepare clear, legally supported decisions.

Obtain and assess expert evidence including surveyors, engineers, valuers, building consultants and external legal advisers.

Accurate and efficient policy interpretation;

Excellent communication with clients to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience.
Customer Experience

Provide practical and commercially focused solutions for customers.

Build trusted relationships with insureds, conveyancers, solicitors, lenders, brokers and external legal providers.

Communicate complex legal concepts in plain English.

Manage customer expectations while delivering exceptional service throughout the claims journey.
Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure claims are managed in accordance with:

Apply procedural fairness and natural justice principles when making claim decisions.

Maintain accurate claim records and legal documentation.

Essential Requirements:

Qualification in one of the following:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB/JD)
- Licensed Conveyancer
- General Insurance Law
- Equivalent legal or insurance qualification

Experience in:
- Property law
- General insurance claims

Strong understanding of:
- Australian property law
- Contract interpretation
- General insurance principles

Excellent written communication with the ability to draft clear, legally reasoned claim decisions.
