Position Title: Wall and ceiling fixer
Salary range: AUD $79,000 - $90,000 per annum (excluding superannuation)

Detailed Job Description: The successful applicant will be responsible for performing wall and ceiling fixing duties across residential and commercial building projects, including:
- Reading and interpreting plans, specifications and drawings to determine plasterboard layout, fixing requirements and material quantities.
- Measuring, marking, cutting, lifting and positioning plasterboard sheets, and securing them to walls, ceilings, battens, metal framing and timber tracks.
- Installing and fixing plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, bulkheads, acoustic ceiling grid systems and composite wall linings in accordance with Australian Standards and project specifications.
- Preparing, plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces, including installing and securing corner beads and trims.
- Applying jointing compounds, plaster, flushing materials and tape to joints, screw fixings and surface imperfections, and sanding/smoothing surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish ready for painting.
- Fixing cornices, ceiling features, plaster fittings and other finishing elements as required for each project.
- Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fire-rated plasterboard systems where required.
- Measuring works on site, estimating material requirements and coordinating material orders for current and future works.
- Working safely and efficiently in a team environment, maintaining clear communication with supervisors, staff, trades and clients.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas, and ensuring all work is completed to required quality, safety and site standards.
Qualifications and experience required for the role:
- AQF Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining, Plastering or a closely related trade qualification, with at least two years of relevant on-the-job training; or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant trade qualification.
- At least three years of relevant full-time work experience in wall and ceiling fixing or plastering may be accepted in lieu of the formal qualification.
- Relevant industry training, licences or cards, including White Card and Working at Heights where required for the role.
- Strong practical experience reading plans, installing plasterboard wall and ceiling systems, applying jointing compounds, and completing finishing work to trade standards.
Pay: $85,000.00 per year
