About the role:
As a Qualified Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely coding of patient diagnoses and procedures following discharge, in accordance with Australian Coding Standards and relevant State Coding Advice. Working closely with the relevant Manager, you will support the collection, collation, and management of clinical data to ensure compliance with hospital policies and legislative requirements. You will also contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives by participating in internal and external clinical coding audits, helping to maintain the integrity, accuracy, and quality of health information across the organisation.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will bring:

Completion of Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA), Clinical Coding Course; Associate Diploma or Bachelor of Applied Science, Medical Record Administration or Health Information Management; or similar relevant tertiary qualification.

Eligible for membership with the HIMAA.

Demonstrated current experience in Clinical Coding including a minimum of 1 year full -time equivalent hours (FTE) coding experience (post training) coding a similar case mix to that of the recruiting facility.

Demonstrated ability to code independently with limited supervision.

Demonstrated interest in clinical coding, highly developed ability to self-manage and
a positive "can-do" attitude. -
Excellent time management and organisational skills.

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Previous Private Hospital experience is desirable
