Location: Arncliffe, NSW
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Aged Care Support Worker to provide in-home support for a 77-year-old lady.
About the Client
The client is a friendly 77-year-old woman living independently in Arncliffe. She speaks English, Hindi, and Tamil and is mostly vegetarian (occasionally eats fish and chicken).
She is living with:
- Bipolar depression
- Osteoporosis
- Diabetes/insulin resistance
- Incontinence
- Reduced mobility (uses a walking stick and wheelchair for longer outings)
Duties Include
- Personal care and wellbeing support
- Meal preparation (mostly vegetarian)
- Light domestic assistance and cleaning
- Assistance with shopping and community outings
- Mobility support and safe transfers
- Medication reminders (where appropriate)
- Companionship and social support
- Monitoring wellbeing and reporting any concerns
Hours
- Approximately 14 hours per week
- Flexible days and times by agreement
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent)
- Experience supporting older people with complex care needs
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or Working With Children Check (if required)
- Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
Desirable
- Experience supporting people living with mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder
- Ability to speak Hindi or Tamil (highly desirable but not essential)
- Knowledge of dementia and aged care best practices
