Over the coming months, Sutherland Shire Council will roll out Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO), transforming how our community manages household waste and helping divert thousands of tonnes of organic material from landfill.
We're looking for an energetic, people-focused Waste Educator to help make it happen.
This is your chance to be at the centre of a major community change program, engaging with residents, schools, community groups and stakeholders to drive awareness, participation and positive environmental outcomes across the Shire.
- Deliver community education and engagement activities supporting the rollout of FOGO.
- Represent Council at events, workshops, presentations and community activations.
- Develop and deliver clear, engaging waste and recycling education.
- Support campaigns promoting resource recovery initiatives, including the Community Recycling Centre.
- Build positive relationships with residents and stakeholders.
- Help turn awareness into action through effective behaviour change programs.
Desirable
- Knowledge of waste, recycling or resource recovery programs.
- Local Government experience.

- Package: $91,655 - $97,152 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Temporary Full Time, working 35 hours per week with the option of a 19 day month using Council's ADO (Accrued Day Off) system. Position is expected to be available up to 12 months.
