About the role
We're seeking an experienced full-time Yield Lead to join our Wacol site and play a key leadership role in delivering safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing outcomes.
Reporting to the Operations Director- QLD, you will is responsible for driving site performance through the optimisation of manufacturing yields, reduction of waste, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across the production facility.
This role serves as the link between operational execution and data-driven decision making, spending significant time on the production floor identifying opportunities, coaching teams, validating processes, and leading improvement projects, while also conducting detailed analysis of production, yield, waste, quality, and operational performance data.
The role is critical in developing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence that supports productivity, profitability, food safety, quality, and customer service outcomes.
The annual salary for this role is not less than $79,423 plus superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, analyse and report manufacturing yield performance across all production areas.
Identify yield losses, material variances, giveaway, waste streams and process inefficiencies.
Conduct root cause analysis on yield deviations and develop corrective actions.
Partner with Operations, Quality and Maintenance teams to improve product recovery and minimise losses.
Establish yield benchmarks and performance targets.
Develop and maintain yield dashboards and reporting tools.
Lead investigations into ingredient usage, production losses and inventory variances.
Lead and facilitate site continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and cost performance.
Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and problem-solving methodologies.
Facilitate events, workshops and improvement projects.
Develop and maintain a continuous improvement pipeline and project tracker.
Ensure project benefits are quantified and validated.
Drive standardization of best practices across departments.
Spend significant time in production areas observing processes, identifying opportunities and validating data.
Conduct Gemba walks with operational leaders.
Work alongside production teams to understand operational challenges.
Coach supervisors and operators on waste reduction and process optimisation.
Support implementation of new processes, standards and operating procedures.
Monitor adherence to standards and recommend improvements.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in related field
- Knowledge and Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles; Six sigma methodologies; and Root Cause Analysis
- 3+ Year within food manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience in CI, Lean Manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Results Driven; CI Mindset and Hands on Leadership
