We offer a unique mix of metropolitan and regional training settings, all of which provide comprehensive, high quality local and network teaching.
Each site offers varied experiences, and trainees work collaboratively across the network centres. We also have strong ties with the Southern NSW/ACT Training Network, with whom we share a Combined Network Teaching Program that delivers monthly network teaching days.
Where you'll be working
There are nine accredited training sites within the network, making us one of the largest in Australia: Lismore Base Hospital, Coffs Harbour Health Campus, Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Calvary Mater Newcastle, Gosford Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (Chris O’Brien Lifehouse), Westmead/Blacktown Hospitals and Nepean Hospital.
The successful applicants will be appointed to a ‘home hospital’, where they will be working and training the majority of the time. Trainees will spend no more than four years at any single training site within their five-year training program as per RANZCR requirements.
The position involves a minimum 12-month (1.0 FTE) rotation to another site within the Training Network to fulfil all RANZCR curriculum requirements. All Northern NSW Network trainees are required to complete a minimum of 6 months training at a regional site within the Network (e.g. Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie), therefore trainees with a metropolitan site as their ‘home hospital’ will spend a minimum of 6 months on rotation to a regional site, with a preference for 12-month allocations where practicable.
