- Write code that actually means something — clean, efficient and built to last
- 12 RDOs a year — one extra day off every month, built into how we work
- Full-time, office-based role in either our Spring Hill or Capalaba offices
Most developers build products for businesses. Here, the software you build helps care organisations run better — and when that happens, the people they support feel it.
As a Software Developer at Kanda, you'll work across the full development lifecycle, turning real operational problems into clean, effective solutions. It's hands-on, it's varied, and the stakeholders you build for aren't just chasing features — they're trying to deliver better care. That context makes the work mean something.
What you'll be doing
- Working across every stage of the development lifecycle — requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance
- Writing clean, efficient and maintainable code that holds up — because cutting corners today just creates problems for tomorrow
- Integrating front-end interfaces with back-end and third-party services and APIs using REST, gRPC, SOAP and more
- Designing and implementing database schemas, queries and optimisations across a variety of RDBMSs
- Integrating with Microsoft services including SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI and M365
- Creating clear technical documentation for usage and training purposes
- Keeping security front of mind throughout the development lifecycle, particularly in web-based application design and infrastructure
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, then proposing solutions that streamline operations and drive real outcomes
You're the right person if...
- You have demonstrated experience in a similar software development role (5 years desirable)
- You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, programming or software development
- You use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to move faster — and you have the judgement to know when to trust them and when to push back
- You communicate clearly and have a sharp eye for detail
- You problem-solve well and stay calm when things don't go to plan
- You're genuinely curious about new technologies and keep up with where the industry is heading
- You hold a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or are willing to obtain one
