Job Description:
dentsu creative is a global creative agency network designed to unlock exponential growth for clients. We use Transformative Creativity as a differentiating, driving force to bring our capabilities together to positively impact people, business and society. Established in 2022, dentsu creative is integrated with dentsu’s Media and CXM businesses in over 145 countries and regions, to offer Integrated Growth Solutions.
We have a unique opportunity in partnership with the NFL for a Social Content Manager to help drive engagement and build on local fandom. This is perfect for someone who lives and breathes digital culture, has a passion for sport (ideally with knowledge of the NFL), understands how social drives fandom, and can manage a client with confidence.
The NFL established its Australia and New Zealand office in 2022 on the Gold Coast, marking a major milestone in expanding its global presence. That same year, the league introduced its NFL Flag football program locally, followed by the official launch of the NFL Academy Asia-Pacific (APAC) in 2024.
As part of its efforts to grow the game and deepen fan engagement across Australia and New Zealand, the NFL Australia office has implemented a range of fan events across the market, giving local fans the opportunity to connect with sport at a deeper level. Most recently, announcing its first-ever regular season game in Australia, set to take place in Melbourne in September this year.
This is a contract role until the end of March 2027, working 3 days a week except for 1x 4-week period for 5 days a week (Melbourne game) and 1x 5-week period for 5 days a week (Play offs into Superbowl). You’ll be based at the NFL’s Australian headquarters on the Gold Coast. Some travel will also be required.
Please apply with a CV and folio.
Core responsibilities:
Capture content at local events and activations, including static, short-form videos, and reactive social content.
Develop original, insight-led content ideas that grow local fandom and reflect the cultural relevance of the NFL in Australia.
Identify storytelling opportunities across players, grassroots participation, youth pathways, and fan culture.
Coordinate content calendar across channels, including prioritisation and negotiation with internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with NFL’s events, PR, creative, and digital teams to integrate local content into broader campaigns.
Analyse campaign performance and deliver recommendations.
A bit about you
Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and visual content creation (which you’re able to shoot and edit).
Great understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) and what content works best for each one.
A deep passion for sport and creating cultural moments within it.
Confident communicator; from creating copy or being client facing.
