As we continue to strengthen our operations, we are seeking a dedicated, highly organized, and proactive Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize our commercial fleet based out of our Fifield facility.
About the Role
This is a critical, fully on-site role based at our Fifield, NSW site. As the Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, maintenance, compliance, and cost-efficiency of our vehicle asset base. You will ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and fully operational to support our daily business commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Maintenance & Optimization: Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all fleet operations strictly comply with National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) laws, NSW transport regulations, and company WHS policies.
- Cost Management: Monitor fuel consumption, toll usage, and repair costs, identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Manage relationships and negotiate terms with mechanics, parts suppliers, fuel providers, and insurance brokers.
- Data & Reporting: Utilize fleet management software and telematics to track vehicle utilization, driver behavior, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a hands-on problem solver with a strong eye for detail, comfortable working directly on-site in a regional hub.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated experience in fleet management, transport coordination, or a closely related logistics role.
- Regulations: Strong working knowledge of NSW transport regulations, NHVR standards, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern fleet management systems/telematics and the MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
- Communication: Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage both internal driving staff and external vendors.
- Licensing: A valid Australian Driver’s License is essential (Heavy Vehicle license classifications are a plus).
