We are seeking a skilled Chef to prepare and present quality dishes, maintain kitchen standards, and support efficient operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Chef at Coffee institute, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality dishes while following established recipes and kitchen standards. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations, consistent food quality, and smooth service during busy trading periods.
Key Objectives
- Deliver high-quality food preparation and cooking across all kitchen operations. Lead and develop kitchen staff while maintaining exceptional food safety and services standards.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Undertake all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation to a high standard. Develop with menu planning using seasonal ingredients while maintaining quality and cost efficiency. Assist with rostering to ensure staffing levels align with business requirements. Deliver exceptional service with a strong focus on guest and Member satisfaction. Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to develop team capability. Monitor and maintain food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards. Assist with minimising stock and equipment wastage and with budget control of stock and equipment. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and infection control standard. Maintaining Cooking equipment and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
What We’re Looking for
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma or 3-year experience Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene. Strong customer focus and commitment to continuous improvement. A positive attitude and commitment to teamwork and safety. Ability to work 38 hours per week. Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team. A strong knowledge of Work Health & Safety legislation
