About our Pipeline Renewals Team
Our Pipeline Renewals team delivers end to end rehabilitation and replacement services across water, sewer and stormwater utility assets. With specialist experience in trenchless technology, pipe bursting, directional drilling and other leading technologies we have a highly experienced Renewals team who provide a strong technical solution to our clients.
About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team based in Tullamarine. This is a hands-on, site-based role working closely with operational teams to manage risk, promote a positive safety culture, and support the safe delivery of sewer and water infrastructure works across Melbourne.
You will work closely with Project Managers and site teams to provide practical, on-site safety leadership, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and Abergeldie’s Safety Management System. Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing and implementing WHS and emergency response plans.
Conducting site audits, inspections and assurance activities.
Monitoring subcontractor compliance and coaching safe behaviours on site.
Verifying plant, equipment and operator competency.
Supporting pre-starts, toolbox talks, site inductions and ongoing training initiatives.
Working with delivery teams to develop risk assessments and SWMS, proactively identifying and mitigating high-risk activities.
Assisting with incident investigations and driving corrective actions and learnings across projects.
What you’ll bring to the team
Proven experience in contractor-side construction environments, working on complex civil infrastructure projects.
Experience working within water projects strongly preferred.
Minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety.
Strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance requirements
Ability to conduct audits, review WHS plans, and support incident investigations.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage across all levels on site.
Excellent organisational skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to safety
