AEC Woolloongabba is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Casual ECC Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic team!

As a Casual ECC Vet Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing timely and compassionate care. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment where quick thinking, excellent communication skills, and a passion for emergency and critical care are essential.
You'll join a friendly, experienced Emergency and Critical Care team in a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality emergency and critical care services to our community's beloved pets!
Responsibilities:

Casual role

Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in our emergency department

Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments

Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed

Perform diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, X-rays, and ultrasounds

Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date

Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition and treatment plan

Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
Requirements:

Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)

Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting

Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medical procedures

Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compassionate and empathetic towards both animals and their owners

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
