The role ensures the achievement of production objectives by implementing policies and optimizing resource utilization while maintaining ammonia and refrigerant cooling systems, facility boilers, hot water, high-pressure water, chilled water, and plant air systems. Responsibilities include ensuring the safe operation of all utility systems, conducting daily inspections for safety and compliance, planning and prioritizing repairs, maintaining equipment history and repair records, adhering to GMP standards, and assisting with other maintenance tasks as required by management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all ammonia systems and refrigerant cooling systems.
- Responsible for safe handling and operation of ammonia facility and refrigerant systems.
- Responsible for safe operations and upkeep of facility boiler systems.
- Responsible for safe operations and upkeep of Quickwater hot water systems.
- Responsible for safe operation and upkeep of Roto jet high pressure water system.
- Responsible for safe operation and upkeep of facility chilled water systems.
- Responsible for safe operation and upkeep of plant supplied air systems.
- Inspect all systems daily for records, safety, and correct operation.
- Follow all GMP's where applicable
- Help with planning and prioritizing repairs and maintenance of Utilities and Ammonia/Freon systems with production requirements and follow up accordingly.
- Maintain equipment history and repair records.
- Other maintenance duties as requested by management.
Education Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related field is highly relevant to managing complex systems like ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and cooling systems.
2. Specialized Training or Certification: o Certification in ammonia or refrigerant systems (e.g., RETA - Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association certifications or equivalent). o Training in Process Safety Management (PSM) or Safe Handling of Ammonia Refrigerants.
3. Additional Skills/Knowledge (optional but desirable): o Understanding of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) as mentioned. o Familiarity with industrial boiler operation and maintenance, and systems like Roto jets or Quickwater hot water systems.
