About the Role
WEmpower is growing and currently seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join the team. This role focuses on supporting individuals with disabilities and elderly clients to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their homes and communities.
We are hiring multiple candidates who are committed to delivering person-centred care and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Support clients in their everyday routines, including accompanying them to appointments, outings, and community activities
- Assist individuals with movement and mobility, including transfers and use of mobility aids
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Plan and encourage participation in social and recreational activities to enhance wellbeing
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through general household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying
- Provide personal care support, including help with bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing
- Offer emotional support, companionship, and build trusting relationships with clients
- Assist with shopping, errands, and other daily tasks to promote independence
- Monitor client wellbeing and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate team members
- Support clients in developing life skills and maintaining routines
- Follow care plans and ensure all support is delivered in line with individual needs and preferences
- In some cases, provide live-in support where required
