Join our team as a Principal Adviser Strategic Land Planning
Shape the future of Redland City through strategic land and property planning. In this influential role, you'll identify opportunities to optimise Council's land portfolio, provide expert advice to senior leaders and Councillors, and help drive projects that deliver lasting community, environmental and financial outcomes. Working across a diverse range of stakeholders, you'll combine strategic thinking, planning expertise and commercial acumen to turn complex land use opportunities into practical recommendations that support the city's future growth.
Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Land Planning - Identify and assess opportunities to optimise Council's land and property portfolio.
Research & Analysis - Undertake land use investigations, feasibility assessments and evidence-based analysis to support decision-making.
Expert Advice - Prepare high-quality reports, briefing notes and recommendations for senior leaders, the CEO and Council.
Business Case Development - Contribute to the development of land strategies, frameworks and compelling business cases.
Project Delivery - Support and coordinate strategic land and property projects from concept through to implementation.
Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong relationships with internal teams, government agencies, industry groups and community stakeholders.
Policy & Planning Expertise - Contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures and strategic planning initiatives.
Leadership & Mentoring - Provide technical guidance and share knowledge to strengthen capability across the organisation.
Skills and experience:
Demonstrated experience in strategic property planning, land use planning, property analysis or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of planning legislation, frameworks and statutory planning processes, including the ability to interpret and apply planning requirements.
Proven ability to research, analyse and evaluate complex land use or property matters and provide practical recommendations.
Experience preparing high-quality reports, briefing papers, business cases and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Well-developed stakeholder engagement, communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse groups.
Experience working collaboratively with government, community, industry or commercial stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic projects, programs, policy development or land planning initiatives.
Technical leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching or guiding others to achieve successful outcomes.

Eligibility:
- You'll hold a Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Property Economics or related field
