Care Fast is a growing registered NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports across Melbourne. We are currently seeking an experienced Female Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting participants with complex psychosocial disabilities, Autism, Acquired Brain Injury, Intellectual Disability and associated health conditions.
This is not a standard disability support role. We are looking for someone who is resilient, emotionally intelligent and confident supporting participants with complex presentations while maintaining clear professional boundaries and delivering exceptional person-centred care.
About the Role
You will provide individualised support to participants living with a range of complex diagnoses, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 2)
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Moderate Intellectual Disability
- ADHD
- Anxiety and Depression
- Complex PTSD
- Epilepsy
- Osteoarthritis
- Lymphoedema
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting participants in their home and community
- Implementing Behaviour Support Plans and Positive Behaviour Support strategies
- Assisting with daily living skills, personal care, meal preparation and household tasks
- Supporting participants to attend appointments and community activities
- Completing high-quality progress notes and documentation
- Responding professionally to behaviours of concern while promoting dignity, safety and independence
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience supporting participants with complex psychosocial disabilities, Autism, ABI and/or Intellectual Disability
- Can identify early triggers and recognise the early stages of behavioural escalation or emotional dysregulation
- Is confident implementing Behaviour Support Plans and de-escalation strategies
- Can establish and maintain firm, respectful professional boundaries
- Understands trauma-informed and person-centred practice
- Has the emotional intelligence to "read the room" and adapt their communication style accordingly
- Is patient, calm and consistent under pressure
- Can support both outgoing, highly social participants as well as participants who are naturally introverted and require a quieter, structured approach
- Is reliable, professional and committed to providing high-quality support
Essential Requirements
- Female Support Worker
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with complex behaviours and psychosocial disability is highly regarded
