Due to continued growth of our client base and increased demand for professional hairdressing services, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Hairdresser to join our team in a full-time permanent position.
The successful applicant will contribute to maintaining the high professional standards of Artside Hair Studio while delivering personalised hair solutions and exceptional service to our clients.
Position Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Conducting professional consultations with clients to assess hair care requirements, understand style preferences, and recommend suitable services.
- Assessing hair and scalp conditions and providing advice regarding appropriate treatments and hair care solutions.
- Performing precision cutting, trimming, shaping, layering, tapering, and styling using professional hairdressing techniques.
- Shampooing, conditioning, and treating hair and scalp using appropriate professional products and methods.
- Performing advanced colouring services including permanent and semi-permanent colour, lightening, bleaching, toning, foils, highlights, balayage, and corrective colour services.
- Performing chemical hair services including keratin smoothing, straightening, and other professional treatment services.
- Creating finished hairstyles through professional blow-drying, curling, straightening, and styling techniques.
- Recommending professional hair care products and providing clients with advice on maintaining their hairstyle and hair condition.
- Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients through consistent service quality and personalised care.
- Managing client appointments efficiently while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Maintaining accurate client consultation and service records.
- Maintaining salon presentation, hygiene standards, cleanliness, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Providing guidance and support to apprentices and junior team members by sharing technical knowledge and professional practices.
- Contributing positively to a professional and collaborative salon environment.
Skills & Experience Required
The successful applicant will have:
- Certificate III in Hairdressing (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
- Minimum five (5) years' relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in women's and men's cutting, colouring, chemical services, and styling techniques.
- Experience delivering professional hairdressing services within a client-focused salon environment.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary hairdressing techniques, products, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication, consultation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a professional team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and maintaining excellent client care standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced salon environment and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work Saturdays as part of the salon roster.
