About the Role
Burton Demolition is seeking an experienced Salvage & Asset Recovery Specialist to lead recovery activities across our Adelaide demolition projects. You will assess sites, identify valuable materials, safely remove items, prepare them for resale, and manage the full sales process from listing to customer handover.
This is a hands‑on, independent role suited to someone with strong demolition, construction, salvage or recycling experience who understands building materials and knows how to extract value from every project.
Key Responsibilities

Site assessments across residential & commercial demolition projects
- Identify reusable materials, fixtures, equipment and assets
- Develop practical recovery strategies to maximise salvage outcomes
- Safely remove items such as solar panels, tanks, hot water systems, sheds, windows, doors, kitchens, timber, steel, commercial fixtures and reusable building materials
- Photograph, list and advertise recovered items online
- Manage enquiries, inspections, negotiations and sales
- Coordinate collections, deliveries and transport
- Maintain accurate records of recovered materials and sales
- Work closely with demolition supervisors to ensure salvage opportunities are captured
- Identify improvements to increase recovery efficiency and revenue
About You
You’re a practical, self‑motivated operator with strong knowledge of demolition sites, building materials and salvage value. You can work independently, solve problems on the fly and confidently deal with customers and buyers. You will ideally have:

Proven experience in demolition or salvage
- Knowledge of building materials with resale value
- Ability to quickly identify salvage opportunities
- Experience safely removing reusable materials
- Strong negotiation and sales ability
- Confidence dealing with customers and contractors
- Current driver’s licence (essential)
- Forklift, truck or machinery licences (highly regarded)
- Experience buying, selling or trading recovered materials
