We're seeking a Senior Track Designer to join our Track & Mechanical Design team and contribute to the delivery of engineering solutions that support our rail networks.

About the role
This is an opportunity for an experienced designer with strong technical capability and a passion for infrastructure projects to take a lead role in developing high-quality design solutions while working closely with a multidisciplinary team across civil, mechanical, track and structural disciplines. Based on current project needs, we're particularly interested in candidates with track, civil or mechanical design backgrounds, and experience in the rail industry will be highly regarded.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver track and infrastructure design solutions across a range of rail projects.
- Produce and review detailed designs using AutoCAD and other relevant design tools.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
- Lead or coordinate small project-based teams to achieve project objectives.
- Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement and best-practice design outcomes.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, safety requirements and organisational processes.
Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery.

About you
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical design capability with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence outcomes.
You'll bring:
- Extensive experience in railway track design, including points and crossings, turnouts, diamonds and associated track infrastructure using industry-standard CADD software, preferably AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Strong AutoCAD (or similar) experience and the ability to develop detailed technical designs.
- Experience in track design, civil infrastructure, mechanical systems or structural design.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to manage complex technical challenges and competing priorities.
- Experience coordinating design activities or providing technical leadership within project teams.
- A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation, provide expert advice and present solutions to diverse audiences.
Formal qualifications
- At minimum hold an Associate Degree of Engineering within a related discipline
- Current un-restricted Drivers Licence
Ability and willingness to travel and work flexibly to support project and operational requirements across the rail network.
