We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Sandwich Hand / Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is primarily responsible for preparing sandwiches, wraps, salads, and cold food items while providing support to the hot kitchen during busy periods. The successful candidate will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintain high food safety standards, and contribute to delivering excellent quality food.
Key Responsibilities Sandwich & Cold Food Preparation
- Prepare Lebanese wraps, sandwiches, focaccias, and rolls to company recipes.
- Assemble fresh salads, bowls, and cold food items.
- Prepare ingredients including slicing meats, vegetables, cheeses, herbs, and garnishes.
- Portion ingredients accurately to maintain consistency and food cost.
- Restock sandwich bar throughout service.
- Ensure presentation standards are maintained.
Hot Kitchen Support
- Assist chefs with food preparation and cooking.
- Prepare and cook simple hot menu items as directed.
- Assist with grilling, frying, and reheating food during busy service periods.
- Prepare sauces, marinades, and side dishes.
- Plate meals to company presentation standards.
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workstation.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Rotate stock using FIFO principles.
- Monitor stock levels and advise management when supplies are low.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Complete daily cleaning schedules.
- Support other kitchen staff when required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous café, sandwich bar, or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knife skills and food preparation experience.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Ability to follow recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
