About the Role
As a Dental Assistant/ Receptionist in our thriving K1 Dental practice, you’ll play a key role in clinical treatment and administrative support. You’ll confidently and expertly assist practice clinicians while engaging with patients in a positive, professional manner. Your energetic nature and strong organisational skills will help ensure the ongoing success of the practice and the satisfaction of patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain a tidy, presentable waiting room and desk
- Meet and greet patients as they arrive for appointments in a bubbly welcoming manner
- Scheduling of appointments and management of confirmations/reschedules/recalls
- Processing accounts with Hicaps machine.
- Respond, act on and distribute incoming and outgoing emails, postage and internal messages
- Scan patient documents/x-rays to patient file
- Manage incoming/outgoing phone calls
- Manage patient traffic within the practice for up to five dentists concurrently
- Ensuring patient correspondence is sent out promptly and efficiently
- Record cancellations and no-shows
- Collect and receipt payments from patients at time of treatment
- Liaising with other practices and staff involved with a patient’s care/treatment
- Answering patient enquires (this may include, following up with a practitioner with the need to phone the patient back)
- Preparing day sheets, charts and patient files for the business day to ensure dentists are organised with patient information and running to time
- Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with privacy and security regulations
- Maintain a professional reception area
- Chairside assisting/steri – with flexibility to cover in times of need increased patient load and staff absence/leave
Skills & Experience
You have:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist (Minimum 2 years experience)
- Proficiency in MS Office and sound computer literacy
- Experience with Dental 4 Windows (D4W) (desirable)
You are:
- An experienced, professional, accountable dental receptionist
- Highly organised and an excellent communicator
- Customer focused and dedicated to ensuring every patient has a positive experience when visiting the practice.
- Willing to contribute to the success of the practice by demonstrating a commitment to the practice values and team/business goals
