About the Role
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered machinery and equipment.
- Performing routine maintenance and preventative servicing to ensure equipment reliability.
- Identifying mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, steering, suspension, braking systems, and other mechanical components.
- Inspecting equipment and completing detailed service reports.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workshop.
- Ensuring all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Working closely with the workshop team to minimise equipment downtime.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 10 years of post-qualification experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience servicing and repairing diesel engines, heavy vehicles, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- A current driver's licence is desirable.
