We're looking for an experienced and passionate Manager to lead our Financial Counselling and Financial Capability Services, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support for people experiencing financial hardship.
This is an exciting opportunity for a respected financial counselling leader to shape service delivery, mentor a skilled team, strengthen community partnerships and drive continuous improvement across a well-established program.
About the Role
You'll lead a team of qualified Financial Counsellors, ensuring services meet industry best practice, funding requirements and quality standards while supporting positive outcomes for the people and communities we serve.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, mentoring and supervising a team of Financial Counsellors.
- Managing service performance, quality, compliance and contractual outcomes.
- Overseeing intake, referrals, caseload allocation and service delivery.
- Building strong partnerships with government, community organisations and sector stakeholders.
- Monitoring program budgets, reporting and financial performance.
- Driving continuous improvement through case reviews, file audits and quality assurance.
- Promoting trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally safe practice.
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment and professional development.
- Managing risk, safeguarding and Work Health & Safety across the program.
About You
You're an experienced leader who combines strong operational management with a genuine commitment to improving financial wellbeing.
You will bring:
- Leadership experience within Financial Counselling services.
- Diploma of Financial Counselling.
- Eligibility for membership with the Financial Counsellors' Association of NSW (FCAN).
- Experience managing government-funded community programs.
- Strong knowledge of Financial Counselling standards, legislation and professional practice.
- Experience leading teams, coaching staff and managing complex cases.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
- Experience with budgeting, contract management and performance reporting.
- A commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and person-centred practice.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years leadership and management experience within Financial Counselling
- Diploma of Financial Counselling and eligibility for membership with the Finanical Counsellors’ Assocaition of NSW (FCAN)
- Working With Children Check
- Current Drivers Licence
- Access to an insured vehicle
