Adelaide Care Services is seeking compassionate, reliable and enthusiastic Casual Disability Support Workers to join our team in Port Elliot. This is a rewarding opportunity to support people with disability to live safely, confidently and as independently as possible.
About the role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will deliver respectful, person-centred support based on each participant’s individual needs, preferences and goals. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting participants with daily living activities and household tasks
- Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene
- Supporting community access, appointments and social activities
- Assisting with meal preparation and grocery shopping
- Providing medication assistance in accordance with relevant procedures and training
- Following individual support plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Responding calmly and professionally to behaviours of concern
- Completing progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation
- Promoting participants’ dignity, choice, safety and independence
- Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Communicating effectively with participants, families and the wider support team

Essential requirements
Successful applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check, where required
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current National Police Check
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Access to a reliable and insured vehicle
- Valid Australian working rights
- Manual handling and medication training, where required
Previous disability-support experience, particularly supporting participants with complex needs or behaviours of concern, will be highly regarded.
