Working Arrangement
This role is based in our office five days per week. As a highly collaborative operational team, we value face-to-face interaction, real-time problem solving and hands-on support, which helps us deliver exceptional outcomes for our members, employers and colleagues.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Portfolio Team Lead, the Senior Payments & Payroll Consultant plays a key role within our Portfolio Processing Operations team.
This is a hands-on operational role responsible for managing complex client enquiries, resolving escalated processing matters and supporting the delivery of high-quality outcomes across the portfolio. You’ll act as a trusted technical resource for the team while continuing to manage your own workload and deliver exceptional service to members and employers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage complex client enquiries, escalations and priority requests from members and employers.
- Provide technical guidance on salary packaging, novated leasing, payment and reconciliation matters.
- Resolve sensitive and complex issues with professionalism, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support client reviews and employer discussions where specialist operational knowledge is required.
- Act as a technical reference point for PPO Consultants, assisting with process, system and operational queries.
- Support newer team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on day-to-day processing activities.
- Manage your own workflow across phone, email and operational queues, ensuring service standards are achieved.
- Process allocations, payment batches, reimbursements, refunds, direct debits and reconciliations.
- Investigate payment discrepancies and drive issues through to resolution.
- Maintain accurate records including Payroll Deduction Authorities (PDAs), invoices, client profiles and system information.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation updates and quality initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with offshore (GBSS) and internal teams to support portfolio outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced operational professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting colleagues and delivering exceptional customer outcomes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, confidently manage competing priorities and bring a strong sense of ownership to your work.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience within salary packaging, novated leasing, payroll, financial services or a similar administration environment.
- Strong knowledge of payment processing, reconciliations, Payroll Deduction Authorities and client account administration.
- Experience resolving complex client enquiries and escalated operational matters.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement in challenging situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet service standards in a high-volume environment.
- Experience supporting colleagues through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working across multiple systems and platforms.
- A customer-first mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
Highly Regarded
- Salary packaging or novated leasing industry experience.
- Understanding of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) principles and administration.
- Knowledge of arrears, reimbursement and fleet administration processes.
- Experience using HubSpot, RingCentral or similar CRM and telephony platforms.
- Qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
