Innovative Early Learning is looking for a confident, experienced and passionate Room Leader to join our close-knit team in Artarmon.
We are a small, supportive early learning service that values strong relationships, teamwork and high-quality education and care. We are looking for an educator who is ready to take ownership of their room, confidently lead and support a team, and create meaningful learning experiences for children.
About the Role
As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of your room while working collaboratively with educators, families and the centre leadership team.
The successful candidate will be confident working with different age groups and able to adapt their teaching approach according to the developmental needs, interests and routines of the children within their care.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher qualification
- Have a minimum of 2–3 years' experience working within an early childhood education and care setting
- Have previous leadership or Room Leader experience, or be confident and ready to step into a leadership position
- Be confident working across different age groups, including children aged 0–5 years
- Have a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS)
- Be confident in planning, implementing and evaluating high-quality educational programs
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of children's development, individual learning needs and intentional teaching practices
- Be confident guiding, mentoring and supporting other educators within the room
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Be organised, reliable, proactive and able to take initiative
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety, supervision and maintaining high-quality practices
NESA accreditation is highly regarded and will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support educators within your room to maintain high-quality practice
- Develop and implement engaging and meaningful learning experiences based on children's interests, strengths and developmental needs
- Support the implementation of individualised planning and documentation
- Maintain an engaging, safe and well-organised learning environment
- Ensure children's routines, wellbeing and individual needs are consistently supported
- Build strong partnerships with families and maintain open communication
- Support educators through mentoring, guidance and role modelling
- Contribute to the centre's Quality Improvement Plan and ongoing continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader and Centre Leadership Team
- Maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework, relevant regulations, policies and procedures

Essential Requirements
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or higher
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in an early childhood setting
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or willingness to obtain
- Sound knowledge of the EYLF and NQS
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills
NESA accreditation is desirable but not essential.
