About Us
Detector Inspector started in 2005 when our two founders, Jason and Jordan, recognised an opportunity to make a difference - we could help make homes safer for renters and make safety compliance easier for property managers.
At Detector Inspector we share a passion for helping others, we take pride in our work and seek out opportunities to do things better. We’re passionate about training, providing career development opportunities and love solving problems to help us achieve our mission of making every home in Australia safer.
About the role
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where no two days are the same. As part of our Electrical team, you will be involved in a broad range of work across residential properties, contributing directly to safer homes, regulatory compliance, and positive customer outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive electrical safety inspections to ensure appliances and smoke alarms meet compliance standards, as well as completing follow-up repairs, installations, and system upgrades.
As we continue to expand our services, you will also play a key role in our growing air-conditioning offering, including the installation, servicing, and maintenance of split system and ducted units.
What you'll bring
You’re a qualified electrician with strong domestic/residential experience and a genuine interest in developing your skills in air conditioning and the broader HVAC field. You take pride in delivering quality workmanship, communicate professionally, and bring a respectful approach to every customer and site.
You’ll also bring:
- An A Grade Electrical Licence
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- A solid understanding of safety, compliance and Australian Standards
- The ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively
- Split-system experience is highly regarded but not essential
What we offer
We’re serious about safety, quality and creating opportunities for our people. In return for your expertise, we offer:
- Meaningful, purpose-driven work – Contribute to safer homes across Australia.
- Everything you need to succeed – Company vehicle, fuel card, phone, uniform, and tools of the trade provided.
- Stability and work–life balance – Monday to Friday roster with a monthly RDO.
- Ongoing development – Continuous training, upskilling, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Great employee benefits – Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), exclusive Detector Inspector discounts, and practical perks that support your wellbeing.
