PURPOSE
Busines Managers are committed to delivering client excellence and play a key role as the day-to-day client contact. They confidently liaise with clients, media and internal teams, and are responsible for implementing campaign strategies and executing PR tactics to a high standard.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Product:
- Support the development and execution of integrated communication strategies and campaigns
- Draft high-quality materials including media releases, pitches, briefing documents, case studies and client communications
- Deliver media relations activity, including pitching stories and managing journalist enquiries
- Adapt angles and responses when managing media enquiries, with support from your client lead
- Build and maintain media and influencer relationships, identifying and nurturing new contacts
- Monitor media and industry trends to inform client work
- Support influencer programs, including outreach, coordination and budget tracking
- Contribute to brainstorms, campaign planning and creative development
- Assist in briefing internal teams and managing workflow across projects
- Support event planning and execution
- Manage post-campaign reporting and analysis, ensuring timely delivery to clients
Client and Account Management:
- Develop a strong understanding of client businesses, sectors and key issues
- Build effective client relationships through proactive communication
- Support day-to-day client management, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Take ownership of projects, identifying risks early and proposing solutions
- Contribute to WIPs and client reporting processes
- Communicate clearly and confidently, articulating ideas and recommendations
- Support presentations, including plans, updates and creative ideas
- Support budget management on projects, building understanding of scopes and financials
- Progress toward becoming a trusted client contact
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years' experience in PR, ideally within an agency or corporate/B2B environment
- Tertiary qualification in communications, PR, journalism or a related field
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across formats
- Experience identifying, developing and pitching stories to media
- Solid understanding of the Australian media landscape
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyse information and apply insights to support communications activity
