About the role
Provide specialist design and drafting services within the Engineering Department at The Prince Charles Hospital, supporting the delivery of minor works and refurbishment projects across healthcare facilities. This role plays a key part in ensuring infrastructure projects are well-designed, compliant, and aligned to clinical, operational, and aesthetic objectives.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, project teams, and consultants to develop detailed design solutions using AutoCAD, contributing to projects that enhance patient care environments and support efficient hospital operations. The role involves translating clinical and operational requirements into practical design outcomes, ensuring integration of building services and adherence to healthcare standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
As a subject matter expert, you will provide technical advice and guidance on design compliance, building codes, and healthcare facility standards. You will coordinate design processes across multiple stakeholders, review drawings for accuracy and compliance, and proactively identify and resolve potential issues to support safe and effective project delivery.
The position also includes responsibility for managing engineering drawing documentation systems, maintaining accurate records including 'as-built' drawings, and supporting project planning and implementation. You will contribute to continuous improvement of design and documentation processes while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality built environments across the hospital.
