Are you an experienced Disability Support Worker who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred support? We are looking for experienced support workers to provide in-home support to NDIS participants across
Southbank, Albert Park, St Kilda, South Yarra, Armadale, Malvern East, Glen Iris, Prahran and Canterbury, as well as surrounding areas within reasonable travel distance. This role is suited to an experienced support worker who is confident working independently in clients' homes and has hands-on experience supporting people with complex care needs.
Availability:
We’re looking for support workers who can offer:
- Weekday flexibility across mornings, afternoons and evenings
- Wednesday–Friday mornings: 7:00 am–1:00 pm
- Monday–Thursday afternoons/evenings: 5:00 pm–9:00 pm
- Flexibility across these time periods is highly regarded.
About the Role:
- Provide personalised, person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes.
- Support participants with personal care, mobility and daily living activities.
- Support young people and adults to maintain their independence, relationships and personal goals.
- Work confidently with clients who have complex care needs, including MND and behaviours of concern.
- Provide safe and respectful support to clients in accordance with their individual support and care plans.
- Assist with manual handling using equipment such as hoists, slide sheets and other relevant equipment.
- Support participants with PEG feeding and NIV management where required and within your training and assessed competencies.
- Work confidently and professionally in a participant's home while maintaining their dignity, privacy and choice.
- Communicate effectively with families, support coordinators and other members of the care team where required.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current Working with Children Check – mandatory.
- Previous experience working in NDIS disability support. Experience limited to aged care alone will not meet the requirements of this role.
- Confidence working autonomously in clients' homes.
- Experience supporting children and young people. Our youngest client is 13 years old.
- Confidence supporting clients with complex care needs, including MND and behaviours of concern.
- Hands-on manual handling experience, including using hoists, slide sheets and other relevant equipment.
- Experience supporting with PEG feeding.
- Experience with NIV management.
- Strong communication skills and a person-centred approach.
- The ability to follow individual support plans, care plans and relevant procedures.
- A commitment to maintaining client dignity, privacy, safety and choice.
- Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Individual Support, Nursing or a related field are highly regarded.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, where required, or willingness to obtain one.
- A valid driver's licence, appropriate vehicle insurance and access to a reliable vehicle, where required for the role.
