Overview:A landscape apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with a formal qualification, like a Certificate III in Landscape Construction, to train you for roles such as a landscaper.
Choosing landscaping as a career can be one of the most rewarding things you will do if you have a passion for the trade. Landscaping work is quite different to any other trade because your skill base will need to be quite wide. You will need to gain skills across a broad range of fields including machinery operation, truck driving, timber structures, basic building knowledge, plumbing, irrigation, plant knowledge, horticultural skills and garden maintenance skills to just mention a few.
Where will the Certificate III in Landscape Construction AHC30921 (Apprenticeship) take me?
The program prepares apprentices already employed in the landscape industry for further career pathways. A landscape apprenticeship will run for 4 years full time, whilst training one day a week at TAFE
And can lead to the following careers
- Landscape Gardener
- Landscaping Business Owner
- Landscaping Business Operator
- Community Landscape Officer
Before you get too excited about a career in landscaping make sure you understand that it is hard work, it requires early morning starts, you will be required to work in all weather conditions, you will need to be physically fit and mentally capable of dealing with repetitive tasks at times. Landscaping work is a wonderful lifestyle when you are passionate about gardening, creating, designing and constructing landscaping work.
