Are you an Electrical Engineer or Graduate Engineer looking to build a career in Australia's electricity industry?
MV Technology Solutions is seeking a motivated Product Engineer to support our growing portfolio of High Voltage Surge Arresters (11 kV–500 kV) supplied to electricity utilities, renewable energy projects, rail networks and critical infrastructure throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Working with world-leading manufacturers, you'll develop specialist technical expertise while supporting some of Australia's largest transmission and distribution projects.
No previous surge arrester experience is required. We provide comprehensive product training and ongoing mentoring.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Sales & Projects, you will become the technical specialist for our High Voltage Surge Arrester product range.
This role combines engineering, estimating, technical support and product management, working closely with customers, utilities and international manufacturing partners.
No two days are the same. One day you may be preparing a quotation for a transmission project, the next providing technical advice to a utility engineer or supporting a major infrastructure tender.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare technical quotations and commercial proposals.
- Select and specify surge arresters from 11 kV to 500 kV.
- Interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Provide technical support to utilities, consultants and contractors.
- Support major infrastructure tenders and project submissions.
- Liaise with international manufacturing partners.
- Maintain technical documentation and product pricing.
- Deliver technical presentations and customer training.
- Work closely with the sales team to develop new business opportunities.
- Assist with product development and market growth.
About You
You may be a recent graduate or an engineer with a few years of experience who wants to specialise in high voltage power systems.
You'll ideally have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Experience with utilities, substations, transmission or distribution networks will be highly regarded but is not essential.
