Bather / Junior Groomer
About the Role
We are looking for a Bather / Junior Groomer to join our professional and friendly dog grooming team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a genuine love of dogs and wants to develop their skills in the grooming industry. The role will suit someone who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work, and is committed to providing a safe, calm, and positive experience for every dog.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely bathe, shampoo, condition, and dry dogs of various breeds and sizes.
- Brush, de-shed, and prepare coats for grooming.
- Perform basic grooming services such as nail clipping, ear cleaning, and hygiene trims.
- Assist senior groomers with clipping, scissoring, and styling.
- Learn and develop professional grooming techniques and breed-specific standards.
- Safely handle dogs with different temperaments and grooming needs.
- Monitor dogs throughout their appointment and ensure they are comfortable and safe.
- Maintain clean and hygienic grooming areas, equipment, and workstations.
- Clean and maintain grooming tools and equipment.
- Assist with preparing dogs for collection and provide basic after-grooming care information to owners.
- Follow all salon procedures, animal welfare requirements, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Work as part of a team to ensure appointments run efficiently and customers receive excellent service.
About You

- Comfortable working in a busy grooming environment.
- Previous dog grooming, bathing, kennel, veterinary, or animal-care experience is desirable but not essential.
Skills & Experience
- Basic knowledge of dog handling and animal care.
- Previous experience working with dogs is advantageous.
- Grooming qualifications or current grooming studies are highly regarded.
- A willingness to learn professional grooming techniques is essential.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
