Disability Support Worker
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide respectful and person-centred personal care, including shower assistance, while promoting the client's dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
About the Role:
- Provide safe and respectful shower assistance and personal care.
- Prepare all required shower items, including towels, soap, shampoo, body lotion, and clean clothing.
- Ensure safety equipment such as bath mats, handrails, and shower chairs are in place before commencing care.
- Check water temperature and assist the client to safely enter and exit the shower.
- Encourage the client to remain as independent as possible, assisting only where required.
- Assist with washing hard-to-reach areas, drying, applying body lotion if required, and dressing in clean clothing.
- Maintain the client's privacy, dignity, and comfort throughout the service.
- Leave the bathroom clean, tidy, and dry to minimise slip hazards.
- Complete service notes and report any concerns or changes in the client's condition.
Requirements:
- Experience in disability, aged care, or community support preferred.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Manual Handling training or experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and professional conduct.
- Ability to provide safe, respectful, and person-centred personal care.

- Worker must be confident providing shower assistance and personal care.
- Strong focus on client safety, infection control, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Relevant screening questions will apply.
