Flexible Private Practice Role

Pre-Emptive Healthcare is seeking an experienced Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Psychology Registrar to join our established multidisciplinary private practice in Balwyn North.
This role is suited to a psychologist who values clinical independence, professional integrity, and the opportunity to practise within a well-regarded, collaborative private practice. It may suit someone who has developed a clinical niche, has experience in private practice, or is looking for a professional setting in which to continue growing their work.
Subcontractor or employment arrangements may be considered for the right clinician.
We are particularly interested in psychologists with experience in eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, body image concerns, emotional dysregulation, adolescent mental health, neurodivergence, or complex mental health presentations.
We are looking for a clinician who is clinically confident, professionally reliable, and able to work independently while contributing to a respectful and collaborative team culture.

About the Role
You will provide assessment, formulation, and evidence-based psychological treatment to adolescents and adults presenting with a broad range of mental health concerns.
Areas of clinical interest may include:
- Eating disorders and disordered eating
- Body image concerns
- Trauma and PTSD
- Anxiety disorders
- Depression and mood difficulties
- Emotional dysregulation
- Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
- Adolescent mental health
- Neurodivergence
- Complex presentations
Clinicians with experience or training in CBT-E, EMDR, Schema Therapy, ACT, DBT-informed therapy, trauma-focused interventions, Family Based Treatment, or other evidence-based approaches are encouraged to apply.

About You
You are an experienced psychologist who takes pride in delivering high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based care.
You may have experience in private practice, established areas of clinical interest, local professional relationships, or a clear niche that you are continuing to develop.
You are comfortable working independently and understand the realities of private practice, including referral relationships, client engagement, clinical documentation, professional communication, and continuity of care.
You value clinical autonomy, while also appreciating the benefit of working within a connected multidisciplinary team.
Most importantly, you bring sound clinical judgement, warmth, reliability, and a commitment to meaningful therapeutic outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Psychology Registrar
- Medicare Provider Number, or eligibility to obtain one
- Experience in private practice or a similar clinical setting
- Strong assessment, formulation, and intervention skills
- Experience working with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, adolescent mental health, neurodivergence, or complex presentations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong professional boundaries and clinical judgement
- Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Full working rights in Australia

- Familiarity with GP and community referral pathways
