Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Day Program Group Facilitator to lead supportive group programs such as CBT for individuals with diverse lived experiences. This role is ideal for someone who brings emotional steadiness, strong interpersonal skills, and a deep commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces where participants feel respected, empowered, and understood.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate CBT structured group sessions using trauma‑informed principles

Create a safe, predictable, and supportive environment for all participants

Guide discussions, activities, and reflections with sensitivity and clarity

Monitor group dynamics and respond to emotional or behavioural shifts appropriately

Use grounding, regulation, and de‑escalation techniques when needed
-
Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality

Collaborate with the team to plan sessions, review participant needs, and ensure program quality

Document attendance, observations, and relevant session notes in line with organisational policies
About you:
Required Skills & Attributes

Flexible and team orientated

Experience group facilitating, particularly in CBT

Strong attunement to participant needs, emotions, and non‑verbal cues

Clear, compassionate communication style

Ability to set boundaries and hold group structure effectively

Solid understanding of trauma impacts and trauma‑informed practice
-
Competence in grounding and emotional regulation strategies

Commitment to cultural humility, inclusivity, and respect for diverse identities

Ability to manage group dynamics and maintain an equitable, balanced space
-
High level of self‑awareness, reflective practice, and emotional steadiness

Sound ethical judgment and ability to prioritise safety
Qualifications & Experience

Experience facilitating groups in community, mental health, education, or related settings

Training or demonstrated knowledge in trauma‑informed practice
-
CBT training and/or experience facilitating CBT groups
