Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Engagement, the Digital Communications Advisor is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of VECRA’s digital channels, along with additional communications tasks as required.
About the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA)
The Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority (VECRA) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating early childhood education and care services in Victoria. VECRA works to ensure the safety, wellbeing and development of children through effective regulation, compliance, quality assessment and continuous improvement across the early childhood sector.
VECRA plays a critical system management role, providing guidance, oversight and assurance to the sector while supporting high-quality early childhood education outcomes for Victorian children and families.
About the Branch
The Communication and Engagement Branch leads VECRA's strategic communications, public affairs, and media function.
The Branch manages media relations, communications, stakeholder engagement, digital channels, branding, and public affairs for the Regulatory Authority – overseeing timely regulatory communications to the early childhood education and care sector, workforce, and community.
The team works closely with VECRA's Interim Regulator, Chief Executive Officer, and leadership team, providing strategic advice to shape coordinated communications and engagement that are aligned with VECRA's legislative responsibilities and organisational priorities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Engagement, the Digital Communications Advisor is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of VECRA's digital channels, along with additional communications tasks as required.
The Digital Communications Advisor will:

Support the management and governance of VECRA's website
-
Build, edit and upload web content as required
-
Provide advice on digital communications approaches to support the work of the broader communications and engagement team

Successfully build and distribute both regular and ad-hoc internal and external electronic direct mail (EDMs)

Ensure distribution lists are well managed and kept up to date

Generate a monthly digital report, including an overview of website and social media performance and identifying any trends to help inform the work of the broader communications and engagement team.

Assist with social media management where required

Where appropriate, the role may also include basic graphic design work, including developing visually appealing social media tiles and editing PowerPoint presentations.
The role also requires active participation in a broad range of other communications tasks as needed to support the delivery of the division's work. Ad hoc after-hours work may be required.

Proven experience in a similar role

Deep knowledge of both website and EDM best practices
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant professional experience

Experience in all aspects of website management, including with drupal-based web publishing platforms such as the Victorian Government's Single Digital Presence (SDP)

Experience and competency using email marketing platforms such as Vision6
-
A valid Working with Children Check
Desirable:

Skills and experience with graphic design
