Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Transport Refrigeration Mechanic for a full-time, on-site position in Sydney, NSW. The role involves installation, servicing, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of transport refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, maintain, and repair transport refrigeration systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on refrigerated vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults
- Work with compressors, condensers, evaporators and related components
- Test system performance and ensure efficiency
- Recover and charge refrigerants in compliance with regulations
- Read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Complete service reports and job documentation
- Communicate with customers on-site
- Follow WHS and environmental requirements
- Participate in after-hours breakdown work when required
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Assistance with designing refrigeration equipment to meet Australian conditions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent trade qualification
- Experience in transport refrigeration (trucks and trailers)
- Strong fault-finding skills in refrigeration and electrical systems
- Knowledge of refrigeration principles and components
- Ability to use diagnostic and electrical testing equipment
- Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (mandatory)
- Understanding of WHS and environmental regulations
- Ability to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams
- Strong communication and reliability
- Current Australian driver’s licence (preferred)
Pay: $79,500.00 – $85,000.00 per year
