Where you'll be working
Become part of the new Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) Unit at Westmead, a contemporary 6-bed gazetted mental health inpatient unit co-located with Westmead Hospital's Adult Emergency Department. Developed through the Cumberland West Mental Health Services Relocation Project, the unit provides rapid access to specialised care for people experiencing acute psychological distress or mild to moderate mental illness.
You'll join a dedicated team committed to delivering safe, recovery-focused care while supporting patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Work within a newly established, purpose-built mental health service
Collaborate with experienced multidisciplinary mental health professionals
Support short-term assessment, treatment and stabilisation of patients

What you'll be doing
As an Enrolled Nurse within the PECC Unit, you will provide high-quality nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, supporting patients experiencing acute mental health presentations. You will play an important role in promoting recovery, maintaining patient safety and delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
Deliver direct nursing care in accordance with care plans and scope of practice
Undertake observations, assist with assessments and monitor patient wellbeing
Provide emotional support and assist patients with activities of daily living
Accurately document clinical care and escalate concerns when required
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes
