Equans Newcastle is looking for a skilled and motivated HVAC‑R Installation & Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll primarily focus on the installation of a wide range of HVAC‑R systems across our project sites, working on exciting commercial and industrial projects.
This is more than just an installation role – you’ll also have the opportunity to diversify your skills by supporting our service and maintenance division in between projects, ensuring consistent variety, stability, and career development.
About the Role:
- Project-focused HVAC-R installation role reporting to the Branch Project Manager.
- Work across a broad range of commercial and industrial HVAC-R systems and projects.
- Install split systems, cassette units, VRF systems, package units, hydronic systems, fans, duct work, and mechanical fit-outs.
- Support service, maintenance, and breakdown works as required between projects.
- Commission, test, and troubleshoot HVAC-R equipment.
Qualifications & Licences Required
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration
- NSW Supervisor Certificate
- Current Drivers licence
- Full Refrigerant Handling Licence.
- WHS White Card
Highly Desirable
- Dual trade qualification (Electrical / HVAC-R).
- BMS (Building Management Systems) knowledge or experience.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in HVAC-R installation, preferably within commercial and industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC-R systems and installation practices.
- Effective communication skills with customers, stakeholders, and management.
- Professional, reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of WHS and safe work practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Proficient in using mobile technology for timesheets, job reporting and workplace communications.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support both project and service activities.
